On Monday I went to head off to bed and Padung was already in the bed. I noticed he was looking a bit down.

"Come here Padung so I can check you over"

< cat moves to end of bed and turns his back to me>

"Come on, you know I need to check you over"

< cat ignores me>

"OK, I'm going to turn off the light but you know you have to let me check you over"

[lights off]

.. 30 seconds ..

< Padung comes over to me >

[lights on]

< Padung lies down and places his head in my hand>

So at this point I have a look at him and his right should shows classic signs of an abcess so I call for backup.

Kat arrives with saline, tissues and betadine. She finds the entry point, opens the abcess, drains, cleans and betadines it. All the time he just lays there with his head in my hand and I talk to him. Once its done, we curl up together and go to sleep, me feeled humble the way the he just puts his trust in us.

The next morning I get up and he just came up to me and settled himself down to be squeezed etc again.
as it was still pretty full, he had a trip to the vet later that day and is now on antibiotics but still looks a little sorry for himself.

That happened to my siamese. He had an abcess on his head, and never looked so sorry for himself. Just wanted to be cuddled the whole time.

Hmmm, darn, my webserver is not responding for me, but I think it is this:

Paddypuss understands that we're trying to help. That didn't stop him taking a little swipe at me when I squeezed a bit more vigourously.
